Here is a sampling of the awards received by DPC member companies:

The American Exploration & Production Council (AXPC) members are proud of their safety and environmental records and the many awards and recognition received from the agencies that govern the oil and gas business. Even among larger exploration and production companies, the AXPC member companies are industry leaders in providing a safe workplace for employees, contractors and the communities in which they operate. Environmental stewardship is an integral part of all phases of our business, from shooting seismic, drilling, developing and eventually returning the land or offshore lease to its original condition.

Here are just a few of the recent awards received by AXPC member companies:

Anadarko

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has been named the 2002 "Operator of the Year" by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission's District 3 office.

The award is based on the company's prudence as an operator in the field and its accuracy and thoroughness in completing state required reports and filings.

"We're committed to managing and operating our worldwide assets in the most responsible, conscientious manner and this award validates our efforts." said Mark Pease, Anadarko vice president, U.S. Onshore and Offshore.

Within the jurisdiction of the District 3 office in Duncan, Anadarko has extensive operations totaling about 900 operated oil and gas wells across Grady, Garvin and McClain counties.

  • 2002 Annual WY-MT Safety Council Award for: Excellence in Safety Training Gold Award, Safe Driving Second tier award based on mileage driven, Safety Trainer of the Year Award-Jerry Adams (APC EHS), Safety First Award- Frank Liska (APC Ops) top finalist and recipient.
  • Lindsay, Oklahoma operations nominated from District III OCC office for Operator of the Year.
  • MMS 1999 SAFE Award finalist.
  • MMS 1999 Corporate Citizen Award, recognizing OCS leasees for outstanding offshore operating performance and fiscal responsibility.
  • MMS 1995 SAFE Award
  • MMS 1994 SAFE Award

Burlington Resources

  • Gas Processors Assoc. Safety Award in 2000
  • Texas Safety Assoc. Safety Award for 1997 and 1998.
  • MMS SAFE award finalist in the GOM in 1997.

Devon Energy

  • Recognized by BLM for environmentally sensitive development of its operations near Carlsbad, N.M. which encouraged public involvement in planning and development.
  • MMS 2000 Stewardship Award for accurate royalty and production reporting.
  • 2000 GPA Accident Prevention Award (Worland Gas Plant, Sage Creek Gas Plant, Beaver Creek Gas Plant)
  • The Bureau of Land Management Director's Excellence Award for New Mexico was awarded to Devon in 2000 due to exemplary operations of approximately 1,000 wells on public land in Eddy County, New Mexico with regard to the natural environment and safety.
  • 1999 GPA Accident Prevention Award (Worland Gas Plant, Sage Creek Gas Plant)
  • GPA - No Lost Time Accident Award at 6 plant facilities with multiple years at each location

Dominion E&P Inc.

  • 2001 MMS National SAFE Award winner (Moderate Category)
  • Appalachian operations recently received the 2000 West Virginia Oil and Gas Driller Reclamation Award for its environmentally responsible drilling practices.
  • 2000 MMS National Safe Award Finalist
  • 1999 MMS National Safe Award Finalist
  • 1998 MMS National Safe Award Recipient
  • 1998 MMS Houma District Safe Award Recipient
  • 1998 MMS National Corporate Citizen Award Recipient
  • Environmental Excellence Award from the EPA, Region 6, for Outstanding Operation and maintenance of Class II injection facilities to protect underground sources of drinking Water on Tribal lands. 1995
  • State Industry Award for displaying Energy Efficiency and Environmental Preservation December 2, 1994.

  • BLM Legacy of the Land Award for reclamation work in the Big Piney/Labarge operations.
  • MMS 2000 SAFE Award finalists and was also a 1999 SAFE Award finalist.
