Deepwater Discovery Using Seismic Amplitudes

This map of a deepwater prospect was prepared using 3-D seismic data. In this case, certain seismic amplitude data was extracted and mapped using colors reflecting the strength of the amplitude. The hotter colors indicate the potential for hydrocarbons. This turned out to be true as two of the hotter amplitudes were drilled and found gas as shown on the map and log.
